SO LET ME TELL YOU.
I stay up ENTIRELY too late last night, trying to detox from a day spent entirely with people. (Hi, meet me, the world's most extroverted introvert.) I go to bed, am reading a book to fall asleep, and then there is thunderstorm. Lots of lightning, several extremely loud cracks of thunder that sound like they're RIGHT OVER ME. Then I hear little pings and dinks. I go to the window, and there is hail. HAIL. I watch until it seems like there is no hail. Then I go back to reading. Then there are LOUD cracks outside, like rocks are being thrown about and it's GOLF. BALL. SIZED. HAIL. I've heard that phrase many, many times, but I have never actually witnessed golf ball sized hail making a dent in the roof of someone's car. Can't much say that anymore.
Anyway, keep reading until it sounds like the storm has passed completely and I'm just breathing a sigh of "awesome, will sleep now" when the TORNADO SIRENS GO OFF. And I kind of stand there listening, waiting for the train sound because no way am I sitting in my bath tub in the middle of the night until I absolutely have to. They turn off a bit later and I finally go to sleep but man, this all kept me up until almost 2:30.
*KICKS THE WEATHER*
Thankfully, I just checked weather.com and IT'S NOT OVER YET. Oh well. At least I work in a basement.
