My parents have officially moved out to the ranch, all that's left in their house is the living room and the guest bedroom (my room again for the next three nights). Everything else is gone (gone!). (Speaking of old ass NSync songs, three girls were shopping the CD section last night singing Gone in three part harmony. It was really pretty and really, really weird.)
I've never been in my parents house without animals in it. I've been here without people, because I've watched the house while they've gone out of town, but never without animals.
Speaking of, I took my cats out to the ranch on Saturday night. I'm clearly going to have to drug them for the drive up to OK because Natalie would. not. shut. up. The whole forty five minute drive out there it was one meow after another and after about ten minutes I stopped feeling sorry for her and started blasting the mullet rock. Boo pooped in the car but luckily I'm a little slovenly and he just pooped on the church bulletin from last week. I guess that'll show organized religion. Then Boo darted out of the car when I stopped at the ranch and spent a good five minutes running away from me, meowing at the top of his lungs because Boo is very firmly a city cat, not a country cat and the ranch is very firmly country. Also he was scared out of his wits. I finally caught him when he dug himself into the woodpile and got stuck.
I've read more fic in the last three days (in an attempt to avoid packing, because packing is for babies) than I have since I got started in this fandom. *shakes head* I can feel my brain oozing out my ears, overloaded on pretty, pretty boys and their pretty, pretty makeout sessions. *sighs*
I'll never learn. But it's possible I won't have access to fic until August (reading it, nothing will stop me from writing) so I've got to get my kicks in now. I may hit up the public library in desperation, I know my new work place has lj blocked. And I have no idea what the internet hook up is like in the place I'm staying. I'm doubting they've bothered with a hook up in the back house, but... *shrugs* maybe.
I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open.
moving,
cats
