I discovered something earthshattering today. I discovered that I have lived my whole childhood in a lie. .___.
I discovered that Mörkö/Mårran/Groke is a female! D:
All though, that was just in the books, in the comics he's a male. And I hope that the one in the animation is also a male because then my view of the world isn't completely shattered.
EDIT:
Is that a female's voice in the wind at the end?! And as if that wasn't enough, I also discovered that Nuuskamuikkunen/Snusmumriken/Snufkin and Pikku Myy/Lilla My/Little My are half siblings, as they have the same mother.
That, surprisingly, bothers me more than the previous discovery. Nuuskamuikkunen was my favorite character in the animation and a big part of that was because he's so mysterious and cool and stuff. And now my image of him has gone down the drain because he has a relative in the story and that's just wrong. Also, nothing has even suggested that those two are related, not to mention that closely related in the animation!
Also, as I studied the subject and the relations of the characters more, I discovered that the whole story is rather dramatic and soap opera-ish. There are characters that grew up in an orphanage and ran away from there, there are parents that lost (like literary lost, not the subtle way to say someone died) their child when the child was still little, there are cross-dressers and so forth.
No wonder that Moomins are so popular in Japan. XD
Mörkö on mies ja Nuuskamuikkunen ei ole sukua kellekkään!
There, I updated my journal. Are you happy now,
