So, James came up with the big idea to get married, it wont be legal mind you, but we're gonna do it anyway. First the legality issues, hes kinda still married, at least we think he is.. who knows, and yes we're working on that. The second issue with legal implications is my student loans, well ya see, if I were to get married my loan amounts would be based on our joint income, ie. his income since I dont have one, and well.. the government sucks and says that if you make like 10grand a year you get really lame student loans that dont cover shit when compared to how much college costs, hence us not getting legally married so that I can continue my education. This is at least until I start grad school next fall because hopefully Ill get one of those assistantship/fellowship things that cover the whole kit n'kaboodle.
But.... we're in love, yes Im being sappy, and we want to get married. Luckily my friend is a Reverend, I am too but I cant marry myself, thank god for the internet and becoming a rev. online in only a few short minutes. We were planning on doing the deed this coming Saturday but the lovely rev. Malissa is having some surgery on Thursday and wont be able to make it. So we're pushing it back to the next Saturday, the 19th. Which is cool with me cuz even though its not going to be completely official with regards to the legal system, its still real enough for me and Id like to do a little planning and such.
Which brings me to another issue, my parents, they didnt seem happy about the whole thing and I have no idea why. Me getting married to anyone at anytime is not for them anyway, but it would be nice if they could be a little more excited. I guess they arent all that excited because it was inevitable, James and I were always going to be getting married. We're going to be getting married again when we can and do it all official, but who knows when. Its not like Im expecting them to pay for anything this time around anyway, hell they probably wont pay for anything on the official wedding either.
Sooooo now that I have more time, we took a trip to the fabric store, score! Theres something to be said about being able to make your own clothes, it rocks, really it does, and its so much cheaper sometimes. Im making a copy of the outfit I made for new years eve, which was too formal and I didnt wear the whole damn thing, but this time Im making it in an ivory/champaigne color scheme instead of just black and changing a couple of other things. Im going to make the top an elongated victorian corset in this embroidered satin thats champaigne with the embroidery done in ivory and pale pink in an asian type design. Its so pretty it makes me want to cry. The skirt is gonna be like a ball gown skirt but only without all the petticoats and stuff so it wont be all poofy, and its going to be made out of ivory satin that matches the embroidery on the corset. Now Im just hoping I dont fuck it up that material was expensive... even though if I tried to buy the dress Im making it would be at the very least a couple hundred dollars (yes Ive found one similar for only $250, the internet is a wonderful thing)... but we dont have that much to spend right now so Im guessing the $35 Ive spent so far is one hell of a bargain. I have no idea what James is going to wear, he has nothing formal at all and I havent tried to make pants yet and dont want this to be my first try.. Im going to have to find something for him to wear.
And if all that other boy-inspired goodness isnt enough he also suggested a honeymoon of sorts, just one night of course, with our zoo it would be almost impossible to be away longer. So we're gonna head over to tampa to go to busch gardens and the water park over there for sunday and monday. We're super spiffy passport members so we can come and go at those two parks however we like.. for 20 bucks a month you cant beat it. But since we're going to be gone on a monday we have to take the big ol'doggie with us since no one will be able to let him out on monday, unfortunately he cant go in the litter box like the cats, good thing busch gardens has a free kennel.
Ok this is getting far too long so Ill save some more for later when Im not so tired..
