got back from the concert. got to see strata, the future leaders of the world, crossfade, helmet, and chevelle. long, tiring, slightly pain-inducing, but awesome concert. i love chevelle, especially since they consist of three brothers: guitarist/vocalist, bass/bg vocals, and drums, and since i found out that they are "unofficially" a christian band (by looking for guitar chords and happening upon one of their songs). the lead vocalists doesn't sing too well live though. but it was awesome. they played 7 of the songs of theirs that i've heard before... comfortable liar, closure, send the pain below, the red, don't fake this, vitamin r (leading us along), and wonder what's next. i gotta get some more of their music. the future whatevers sucked. a lot. they were trying to rap and scream but it was all incoherent and just crappy. the bassist's bouncy, rope-like hair was probably the best thing about that band. helmet was okay, but a bit too repetitive in their instrumental solos and stuff, and their set was too long. crossfade was good, but i think i got too much of a dose of moshing then. strata was probably the best live. and i think they had the best bassist out of the five bands that played. they opened, and only had about 20 minutes for their set. i need to download some of their stuff. at the end, chevelle threw their drumsticks and picks and water and stuff, and the guy behind me got a drumstick. i'm so jealous. lunia got a pick. i'm jealous of her too. anyway, after the concert, me, lunia, and ashleybray went to eat. it was around 10:30. late dinner. anyway, i am no longer a friendly's virgin. ^_^
now if i only go to one more concert before college, i wanna see thursday. i really wanna see thursday in concert. :)
ok here are some pictures. they're kinda bad quality cause i took them on my cell. oh well. chevelle's bassist and guitarist got really close. i could almost touch them. =P oh and the bassist had a really nice blackish/grayish/bluish 5-string bass. it was awesome. anyway...
