i'm pretty sure it's translatable... at least to some extent. i don't think PSP has an equivalent to a selective color layer but maybe you can get it with color variations? not sure but it would be worth a try ^^ anyway, i'm glad you liked the tutorial.
the original comic books rule my world ^-^ i'm glad you liked the tut. and thanks for telling me the makers of the textures! i'll go and edit them in right now.
Hello, this is an anonymous icon-viewer who has been experimenting with Photoshop for quite some time now, and I have to say, this has been by far the most useful piece of information I've found. Thank you SO much!
Also, I have a question. It must be very basic, because you didn't go into it very much, but..why did you duplicate your text layers? Did you add effects or something? When I duplicate my text layers, it just seems to make the text..bolder. Thanks much if you can answer this for me.
Once again, thank you for making this amazingly simply tutorial. I'll post what I ended up with soon, I'm kinda short on time at the moment. :)
i'm glad you found this to be useful! i worry so much that people won't understand what i'm trying to explain #_#;;; i'm glad you think it's simple.
the text thing, well that's basically it-- i didn't add any effects to the layers, just wanted the text to be darker. sometimes when i want the text i don't just bold it, but instead duplicate the layer... it's mostly because some fonts can't be "bolded", though i could, in this case, since it was century gothic... but i don't usually like bolding fonts in icons because it makes the letters wider as well and i don't want that >.< when you duplicate it does make them darker, it makes them stand out more without affecting the width or spacing between the letters. i guess it depends-- it's just personal taste for me. you could go with bold letters and have pretty similar results ^_^
