CI6 Song-ficlet/drabbles

Dec 05, 2008 21:41

I was planning to do that fic-meme again, but I would've been a major cheater for skipping so many songs, so instead you can just has random song-based ficlet/drabble-like things. :)

You’re Not Gonna Miss Me - Aaron Pritchett - Drookie
Mookie pauses in the bedroom doorway and turns around when he hears Drew speak.

“You’re not really gonna leave.”

The teen raises an eyebrow at him. “Oh yeah? Watch me.” He turns back towards the door and steps into the hall. “It’s not like you care anyway,” he whispers to himself. He pauses by the door, and drops his bag so that he can put his sneakers on. He doesn’t look up when he hears Drew follow him.

“Whatever.” The older man crosses his arms and leans against the wall, “You don’t need me anyway.”

Mookie finishes tying his shoes, and stands. “No, Drew. I think it’s you who doesn’t need me anymore,” he fires back, tears springing to his eyes as he opens the front door and steps outside, “And we both know it.”

Come Back To Me - David Cook - Mearl
”I still love you, babe. I just need a break.” He stands up, and walks over to the dresser, looking in the mirror. “I think we just moved way too quickly. I.. I don’t even know who I am, yet. I’m practically still a kid..”

In the mirror he can see Earl sitting on the bed. The older boy leans forward, wrapping his arms around his knees. “I’ll wait for you, you know that, right?”

The teen nods, “I know.” He bows his head, looking down in shame, “I don’t mean to hurt you.”

Earl slowly stands up, and walks over to the boy, pulling him into his arms. “I’ll be okay. I just want you to be okay, too.” He kisses the back of Mookie’s neck. “When you find you, come back to me. I promise I’ll still be here.”

When I’m With You - Faber Drive - Drary
It was weird, now, being apart for so long. Sure, Drew had been on the Top 3 tour, and then done his own tour in the spring of ’09, but Fall and Divide headlining their own tour to promote their new album? Not even just a cross-Canada tour - no - cross-Canada, and then all over the states. It’s been nearly a year since Drew’s been on the road, and with his own music to keep him occupied, Gary’s only been able to get out to see him a few times, and the last time was over two months ago.

So he sits, anxious but excited, in one of the seats near the gate that Drew’s flight is scheduled to arrive at. He loses count of how many times he glances at his watch only to find out it’s been no more than 5 minutes or so. It feels like days are passing while he waits, and when he hears an announcement over the intercom saying that the flight has arrived, he all but jumps out of his seat and runs to wear he’s supposed to be meeting Drew.

Gary notices Drew a few seconds before Drew sees him, and the first thing he really registers is how exhausted the older man looks. When Drew finally notices him, though, that exhaustion seems to fade in its entirety, and is replaced by excitement and joy. Gary smiles and catches Drew when the older man runs the rest of the distance and jumps into his arms. Drew’s band mates and the members of his security team hang back, allowing the two men to have their moment. “I missed you,” he manages to whisper before Drew’s lips are pressed to his in a deep kiss. Gary blushes, and kisses him back, butterflies exploding in his stomach as if it was for the first time. He sets the older man back on his feet and breaks the kiss.

“Don’t ever go away like that again,” Gary mumbles against Drew’s shoulder, and the older man chuckles.

“I’ll stay home for a while, OK?”, he bargains, and Gary nods.

“Fine.”

Drew tilts Gary’s face up, and kisses him again. “I missed you, babe. So much.” He takes Gary’s hand into his own, and entwines their fingers. “So what d’you say we go home, and get some sleep? ‘Cause I’m exhausted and all I wanna do is fall asleep next to you, which I haven’t been able to do in months and that makes something inside off me feel really off.”

Gary kisses Drew softly, and nods. “I think that can be arranged,” he replies, giving Drew’s hand a light squeeze, “C’mon.”

And with that, the two men take their leave, Drew saying a quick ‘peace out’ to his band mates, and rejecting the offer for his security guards to follow them home.

There is supposed to be a Meo one coming, but I keep getting stuck with the song choice (it was supposed to be Gunnin' but that was just not working). >.>; It will get edited in when I write it. Also... I didn't mean for the Drary one to come out so long. xD Opps. It just really did not want to end, and so the ending actually really sucks. Sorry.

Oh oh. I haz decided on a song for teh Meo. Hopefully it'll be an easy write. :D

Edit:

I’m Ready Whenever You Are - JayDee Bixby - Meo
”Theo?”, he asks softly, almost timidly, causing the other man to turn around and look at him.

“Yeah, Mitch?” He asks, and Mitch falls silent for a moment. “Mitch?”

The guitarist slowly walks over to Theo. “I, um.. I just want you to know that, uh, whatever happens out there in a few minutes.. whoever wins.. I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world, and I feel honoured to be the one who gets to stand up there next to you. And.. if we’re being honest, I think you’re the one who deserves to win.”

It’s Theo’s turn to fall silent now. He blushes deeply, and glances down as Mitch speaks, and shakes his head when the guitarist finishes. “No way, Mitch. My sound’s not what Canada’s looking for.” He slowly looks back up at the other man, and smiles, “And.. for the record.. I’m honoured to be the one next to you.”

Mitch smiles at that comment, “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” Theo verifies, returning the smile.

The two men fall into companionable silence for a long moment, before a stage hand calls to Theo, telling him he’s needed on stage for his solo performance. Mitch grins and pats him on the back, “Go do your thing, kid.”

The pianist smiles nervously, and nods. “I’ll try.” He slowly turns back towards the stage, but turns around when Mitch calls out a soft ‘wait!’. “Wha-“, he starts to ask but is cut off by Mitch’s lips crashing against his. His eyes widen in shock for a moment before he relaxes into the kiss. The stage hands call for him again, and Mitch breaks the kiss, smiling softly.

“Sorry,” he whispers, blushing a little, and averting his gaze.

Theo blushes, and leans forward, pecking Mitch on the cheek. “It’s okay,” he says softly before heading for the stage, a huge smile on his face that has nothing to do with his joy for performing.
