So nice of all of you to join me...

You all did so well on the last riddle, so let's just cut straight to the chase. How about what is known as the hardest logic puzzle ever?

Three gods A, B, and C are called, in no particular order, True, False, and Random. True always speaks truly, False always speaks falsely, but whether Random speaks truly or falsely is a completely random ( Read more... )

That is quite tough.

Do we ask our three questions here?

In which case I will start by asking A: Does da mean yes?

You are on the right track, however that would be entirely too easy, I'm afraid~ <3 What would God A say to being asked, "does 'da' mean 'yes'?"

Scenerio 1: God A is "True"
- if "da" means "yes," the answer is, "da"
- if "da" means "no," the answer is "da"

Scenario 2: God A is "False"
- if "da" means "yes," the answer is "ja"
- if "da" means "no," the answer is "ja"

Scenario 3: God A is "Random"
- if "da" means "yes," the answer is either "ja" or "da"
- if "da" means "no," the answer is either "ja" or "da"

Keep thinking about it, you'll get it eventually~ <3

Alright, let's try this one:

Would A say that B Sometimes tells the Truth?

This is rather deliciously hard!

Ah, now you're doing a bit better~ <3 Let's examine the new scenarios ( ... )

This one is hard. I know it with only two doors and you are asking what would the other one say to you...but there are three in this one...this is hard.

Herr Yagyuu is smart to try and figure out which is yes and no first...I will have to be thinking hard about this answer.

It is the hardest logic puzzle ever~ <3 Give it some thought, ideas may come to you.

He certainly is on the right track. ^~

I am afraid I cannot figure this one out. I can only think of the answer. Ask God A "what would god B answer to a yes or no question"

That is the solution to the problem when there are only two gods - a "true" and a "false."

Truly, this is a mind-bending puzzle~ <3 I'll try something more... medium, next time.

Ahh, hardest logic puzzle ever... I don't even know where to start! I too have only seen the one with two options instead of three, and even that one I couldn't wrap my head around, haha. I don't think I deal well with liars and potential liars in any case, when part of me wants to just believe everyone's always telling the truth.

Sometimes liars tell the truth, and sometimes truthful people lie. ^~

If it helps, consider that the god "Random" isn't truly "random" in his answers. More like... he wakes up in the morning and decides he is going to be truthful today. Tomorrow he might be a liar. All you have to determine is his mood... which means you are really dealing with two truths or two lies. That might be your first step to solving the riddle~<3

Buchou, you're on the island too? You were stranded?

The riddle is a nice distraction... Though if it's the hardest riddle in the world, what are the odds any one of us is going to solve it...?

Hmm...

Can I ask God B if he's going to answer my question with the word for "no"?

So it would seem~ <3 Don't worry, Oishi-kun. It's a beautiful island, lots to explore. We'll be rescued in no time.

Well, it may be a bit of a combined effort~ <3

Now there is a fascinating question! You could certainly ask that. The trouble is, your question is a paradox. If he answers, "yes," then he is lying, because he just answered with the incorrect word. If he answers, "no," he is being truthful about using the correct word for "no," however he is lying by saying that he will not answer your question with the word for "no," as he just did. Thus, none of the three gods could correctly answer your question.

I would say you have found a solution, if not a rather unconventional one~ ^~

I hope we will be, anyway...

So... I just confused all of them into not answering, I suppose that counts. Or backed them into a wall, rather. Any solution is a positive solution, right? I have to admit I don't think I could have thought through all the connections to figure it out in a conventional way.

How long were you here before we arrived...?

[ooc: worrying]

Oishi-kun~ Hope is not an action word. Consider this: show me how you "hope." It is not like "throwing" or "running" which can both be displayed, because it is not an action. If you wish to make a meaningful contribution to our rescue, take action~ <3

All solutions are solutions~ ^~

Just over a day. <3 I had the pleasure of sharing dinner with Hiyoshi-kun. Quite a livespark, that one. Ahahaha~ <3

[ooc: Yamato remains unfazed... XD; and is trying to help.]

I want to puzzle my way through this, but I'm tired and hungry, and this requires entirely too much thinking. ;_;

You despair so quickly, Sengoku-kun~ <3 What if I give you an easier riddle to trouble through?

So you are walking through the snowing cold outside. You have no where to live but you come to this little cabin. You have a stove, a fireplace and a candle. You only have one match, which one do you light first?

islandpuff April 30 2012, 03:01:30 UTC
Oh, now you're just going too easy on me...~ You need to light the match before you can light anything else. ;3
