Quite literally on my way to Oxford at the moment.  I figure if I pay 12 pounds for the return ticket I might as well take advantage of the free wifi onboard.  Except I'm getting a bit sick thanks to the fact that typing in a moving vehicle is a lot like reading in a moving vehicle and that never ends well for me.

Had the flight from hell to get here.  Actually, it wasn't that bad, just a lot of waiting.  Here's a tip for all of you: never fly out of Chicago in the winter.  Everything on the tarmac freezes.  Srsly.  The plane was late to begin with, but the cargo doors were frozen shut, the gas pump was too frozen to work and they had to get gas trucks to come, the bags were frozen as was the little conveyor belt thingy they use to load them on the plane so there was no friction and the bags were just sliding right back down, etc.  Then we were stuck on the runway for so long that I actually fell asleep and thought we had taken off while I was out.  Only we hadn't.  Ooops.  We finally took off sometime around 10:30.  We were supposed to take off before 9.  The flight itself wasn't bad at all and I managed to sleep through most of it which was definitely a record for me.  Thank you ambient.  When we finally arrived at Heathrow we were stuck waiting again.  Since the one runway was still closed off because of the crash landing (which then I saw in the cab...freaky and crazy close to the motorway), there were major holdups and it took over 30 mins of waiting just to cross a runway.  Then we were waiting for a plane to move from the stand.  Which it never did.  So they finally just took us out to park us, but then we had to wait for the stairs and buses to come.  Thank goodness that there was no waiting at customs or I would have screamed.  I didn't get back to the house until after 1pm.  Ouch.

Had dinner at the Spread last night with Jen.  There's a new barkeep who doesn't really speak English.  It was a bit awkward.  I think they should hire me instead.  There was also the trampiest girl I've seen in a longtime. That was good fun.  Gave Jen and me a pick-up that was much needed after discussing our classes for the semester.

Also, Cott's coming to visit for a weekend so we can revel in London together and know we're actually going to be living in the same town at the same time.  Amazingness.
