languages.

Okay, briefly. This is more for my clarification than anything else... I mentioned this in my app, but Noriko is from Japan. This would be unremarkable except that when she gets to Izarkland... it's not the same language. She makes a point of learning it. Which does mean that she parrots a lot of things until she gets the hang of what words mean.

The real issue here is that... camp has a universal translator. Also, what I've seen of Noriko and how she interacts with people in Japan in Japanese is very limited. Vol 1 has maybe like 5 pages or something. That said, in canon, she also goes back and forth between Izark's language and Japanese, depending on how flustered she is.

I decided that in camp, Noriko is talking Izark's language. She will not really... realize that anyone is speaking Japanese to her or whatever. This will probably let me do a little bit of language weirdness so. I think it's probably for the best. That said, everyone is free to understand her when she switches back to Japanese, but really... because of the translator issues, I WILL ASSUME THAT EVERYONE CAN, because... it's camp. It'll be weird for her, but she'll get used to it. It also prevents me from having to worry about honorifics, :|

If anyone has any suggestions or comments, please feel free. As she hasn't commented anywhere ICly, there is STILL TIME

ETA - OKAY IT IS DECIDED. Noriko speaks Izarkspeak in camp. When she does go on her Japanese tirades, they will be in italics, BUT I fully expect everyone to be able to understand, as this is camp. If your character would notice she is switching languages, that is fine to comment on and all that, or if you think your character would bring it up, it is okay!

Second: Telepathy with Izark goes //like this, dudes.// (this one is for my info, mostly.))
