Christmas-fic! Exams are not over yet, and work is still piling up. But this dream of mine demanded to be put in words. And so it is.
Title : From Christmas Present to Christmas Present
Genre : Fluff
Rating : PG-13
Pairing : Aiba/Jun, as usual
Disclaimer : I would love for them to be mine, but they obviously don't.
Notes : This came from a dream I had two nights ago, and for some reason it stuck. And so it’s a little crack-ish (as my dreams tend to be). But it really is a big bunch of fluff. (it feels weird to not write angst.)
It was yet another cold December day. Jun lay on the couch, his fingers threading through Aiba’s hair as he sat on the floor, his head on Jun’s chest, both silent after a full day of being active and happy in front of the cameras.
“Masaki?” Jun’s fingers stopped moving as he spoke.
“Nani?”
“What do you want for your birthday?” Aiba’s birthday was coming up, and even though Jun was fully prepared for the event, he wanted to know if there was anything else that his lover wanted that he couldn’t think of.
“Hmm…” Aiba’s eyebrows furrowed, deep in thought. What did he want for his birthday that would be the least bit plausible? Trips to outer space were out of the question, no matter how much he wanted to go… Aha. This is possible. This is very possible. Let’s see how Jun reacts.
Aiba took his head off Jun’s lap and twisted his body to face Jun, their eyes locking.
“I... I want to move in with you.” Jun wasn’t surprised, as he thought of his half-cleaned-out closet, ready for a particular person’s clothes. But he knew there was more that Aiba wanted.
“That’s it? You practically live here anyway, considering you stay over 6 nights a week.”
“Well... The other things I want aren’t possible…” Aiba thought about that particular dream of his. That unattainable dream.
“Let’s just hear it.”
“I… I want kids.” Jun’s expression fell. This was a subject that they hadn’t talked about since they started their relationship.
“Oh…” It was something that he couldn’t give Aiba. So Aiba was right, after all…
“But it’s alright! I have Jun-kun, ne? I’d rather have Jun-kun and no kids than kids and no Jun-kun!” Aiba was quick to comfort his lover, noticing the drop in expression. He pushed up from his sitting position and leaned over to place a kiss on his lover’s slightly pouting lips.
“I’m going to go take a shower!” Aiba bounced up and into the bathroom, leaving Jun behind in the living room. He sat up and turned on the TV. Aiba was going to take a while. Flipping to the latest entertainment news, he was immediately greeted by a report on a plump-lipped Hollywood actress and her actor boyfriend’s new arrival. Jun’s spirits lifted immediately.
Maybe he could… Maybe…

That particular year’s holidays went well. Aiba had stayed over on the 23rd, and the two celebrated his birthday as soon as the clock struck 12. A full second set of keys and that half-empty closet led to a few rounds of thank you sex . (“Masaki! We still have to be FUNCTIONING tomorrow!”)
The Johnny’s countdown came and went, ushering in a brand new year. They were all very busy, and the group was spread out all over the world. Nino flew to Hollywood for yet another film, Sho was in China doing a crash course to improve his Chinese before the Olympics, and thus when his work as a newscaster began. Aiba was somewhere in Africa doing dangerous things, a usual thing for him and his own work with animals. Ohno took the opportunity to go to Europe, where the greatest masters of art had lived and died, eager to be immersed in the rich history that was there. Jun was the only one that was left in Japan, consumed with work for his two films and three doramas. It was a hard experience for the group; the last time that the group was truly incomplete was when Nino was in Hollywood for the first time. Despite the fact that they all missed each other, they knew that they are all still connected by the bond that is Arashi.
Jun, however, used this time to his advantage. He researched and contacted people for this year’s birthday present to Aiba. Things went smoothly, to the point where Jun thought he was dreaming. A futile dream suddenly had high chances of being realized.
It was the late summer of that year when all five Arashi members were back on Japanese soil. Intent on spending the most time with his well-missed lover, Aiba followed Jun just about everywhere. He would visit Jun during filming, bringing either lunch or dinner or even just a smile to his beloved. He would sit closer to Jun while filming Shukudai, and stay close to him as much as possible. But as Jun sneaked off every week to places unknown to Aiba for hours at a time, insecurities began to rear its head. His active imagination created scenario upon scenario upon scenario.
Maybe Jun was sick and was going to the doctors every week? Maybe he was going to the hospital because he needs chemotherapy because he has cancer?
Or maybe he’s seeing someone else? Maybe he found someone else when Aiba was halfway across the world and unavailable?
Maybe Jun doesn’t love him anymore?
These insecurities would come flooding into his head every single time Jun left without saying anything. Confusion was thrown into the mix early winter, as Jun brought home electrical socket covers and table corner protectors. When asked, Jun would reply,
“Because I don’t want my Masaki to be hurt. I don’t want bruises anywhere on your body.”
But that didn’t make sense. Aiba knew he is klutzy and often hurt himself, but when was the last time he stuck his finger into an electrical socket?
There wasn’t too much time for Aiba to truly ponder this, as he was suddenly sent off early December to Africa for three weeks. He was promised a return to Japan for his birthday, which was something he was thankful for.
It was in these three weeks that the spare bedroom was cleaned out, painted, and a two children’s beds were assembled. The closet was filled with children’s clothing and lots of toys. Jun was happy that this was all going to plan; Aiba wouldn’t be scheduled to return until the morning of the 24th, which was perfect timing.

Aiba’s flight landed exactly at 8:30am of the 24th at Narita International Airport. As soon as he could, he caught a taxi back to their apartment, eager to see his lover after three weeks of separation. As he slipped into the quiet apartment, he was not expecting Jun to be up, but there he was, sitting on the couch, waiting for Aiba to come back home. Aiba grinned.
“Tadaima!” The greeting was not returned. Instead, Jun rose from the couch, walking towards the kitchen, and motioned for Aiba to follow him. Pouting in disappointment and innately curious, he followed. The sight that welcomed him was something he still remember vividly many decades later.
“Okaeri, Papa!”
Three smiling faces greeted him, two completely unexpected. Aiba was beyond shocked.
“What… what did you say?” This was probably a dream. He’s probably still on the plane.
“Okaeri, Papa!” Jun rose from his crouched position between the two kids and walked over behind his lover, wrapping his arms around the stunned man.
“Happy Birthday, Ma-chan. Like your present?” Jun whispered. “And no, it’s not a dream, it’s real.”
“Pinch me?” Jun grinned and did so. Hard. That pulled Aiba out of his flabbergasted state. He turned around to face Jun, tears of joy streaming down his face.
“I… I can’t believe…” Jun smiled tenderly at the man in front of him.
“Yes you can. Now won’t you like to meet our kids? They know about you already.” Jun clasped his hand around Aiba’s wrist and tugged him over to the breakfast table, sitting him in his normal seat. Jun pointed to the girl on Aiba’s right.
“This is Miko-chan. She’s just turned 3, and sitting opposite of her is her brother Daisuke-kun, who is 5 years old.” Jun smiled as Aiba’s gaze fell upon the two children. Miko-chan jumped off the chair (which nearly gave Jun a heart attack), unable to hold back, and wiggled her way into Aiba’s lap, lifting her little head up so she was looking directly at her Papa.
“Papa! Tou-chan’s told us so much about you! Nii-chan and I have seen so many pictures and videos and stuff, but I really really really really wanted to see you! Welcome home!” Miko-chan then looked around to find her Tou-chan, whose wide grin looked like it was going to fall of his face. Daisuke-kun also got off his seat and walked over to his new papa.
“Do you like us, Papa? Is that why you’re crying?” Aiba pulled the two children in a hug, the aforementioned tears rolling down his cheeks.
“No, no, that’s not it. I love you guys. I do.” His choked words brought bright smiles to all the other faces in the room.
“Would you two like to show Papa your room?” Jun was eager to show Aiba the children’s room, having put so much thought into it. He bent down to scoop Miko-chan into his arms, letting Daisuke-kun lead Aiba into what was the spare bedroom. The room was truly a work of art; murals adorned two adjoining walls, with one particular signature embedded in a corner that was all too familiar.
“Oh-chan?” Aiba turned to Jun, amazed. Jun nodded.
“All of them helped out. Ohno did the painting and the murals, Sho dealt with the furniture and child safety and gave me a crash course on how to take care of kids, and Nino wrote lullabies for them. They all knew.” Jun was indeed very thankful for the three men. If it were not for them, things would not have gone so smoothly; Aiba might have left him already by now, if not for Sho and Ohno reassuring Aiba that Jun did love him every single time he went to them.
Miko wriggled in her Tou-chan’s arms, pointing to the pile of toys in one corner. “Papa! Papa! Let’s play!” Jun shook her gently in his arms.
“Not right now. Go finish your breakfast first.” He set her down on the floor, and Daisuke and Miko toddled slowly back to the kitchen, Jun watching from the door to make sure they were safe. Once he was sure that they were both quietly eating their breakfast, he turned to Aiba, who was still in the same position as he was when they first set foot in the children’s room. He was shocked the next second when long arms and a thin body slammed into him.
“Thank you. Thank you so much for making my dream come true. I love you so much.” Aiba tried to make his thanks known to his lover, but he also had a lot of questions.
“Is this why you always sneaked out each week? To meet them?”
“So you noticed. Initially I was only going to go once a month, but I couldn’t stop myself from going to see them. Also, I knew that one day I might let the surprise slip, so I went every week so I had less of a chance for that to happen.”
“So that’s when they knew about me?” Everything was starting to make sense.
“Yes. They were so excited to meet you, and were so disappointed when they found out it they would only meet you today.”
It was a long day, filled with fun and excitement, and the end found our two lovers entwined in bed, after the kids were asleep. The younger of the two was blissfully sleeping, while the other passed his fingers through the dark wavy hair.
“Thank you, love. Thank you for everything.” Whispers of love left his lips as he placed them on the other’s forehead.

It would only be two days later when Jun would fully realize how hard it was to have three kids in the house.
But he loved every second of it.
