Wuxia Novels

Look what I found~ Wuxiapedia! English translations of a bunch of classic wuxia novels *_* This is currently eating my time so badly.

If you're not familiar with the terminology, wuxia is the genre of Chinese fiction involving martial arts and heroism. Think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. These are the novels that those martial art movies are based from.

Nostalgia points for me, really ^^; Was discussing Return of the Condor Heroes with asaphira_sachi and began to crave them. I used to watch so much of those shows, addicted to them really. Haven't seen/read anything since I left Thailand, obviously. So I've been staying up way way late every night reading the novels from that site. I kept going from one cliffhanger to another, gah.

Current addiction is Sentimental Swordman, Ruthless Sword aka. Little Li's Flying Dagger. (There's a full translation of all 4 novels on the site!) It's my absolute favorite series growing up, and Li Xun Huan was one of my first fictional character crush ^^;;; What's not to love about him? Angsty wanderer, alcoholic, lovesick, extremely witty, skilled with daggers, loyal to friends to a fault, etc.... Just the image of him wandering around, sadly carving the image of his lost love into pieces of wood, only to throw them away whenever he finishes each one because he couldn't stand her gaze, really breaks my heart. I could go on but basically he is my hero~

Ahem. I'll shut up now...

I need a way to get access to the TV series still though ^^; My brother will bring some over from Thailand in August, but I don't know if I can wait that long. Does anyone know a good place to get ones that are subbed in English?

Besides this, I am so busy T_T Last week I survived 40 hours of work + 16 hours of school. Here's to another week... I'm so so far behind on my anime watching too, gah.

wuxia, random
