Headed to the Collective yesterday for Awesome Friday. There were about 16 of us at the high point, playing a variety of card, miniature, and board games.
The winner of the event was clearly
We Are Here To See The Evil Wizard Kormákur, wherein... "A group of brave souls have traveled through dark forest and hissing swamp to reach the moss-covered tower that now stands before them. They are each here to see the dreaded wizard Kormákur, but apparently Kormákur is not home."
There are six roles, and six "secrets" -- each player takes his turn engaging one other player in a brief role-playing scene, until everything is resolved. It's sort of like "Are You A Werewolf" meets "Fiasco" -- no dice, or any real mechanics. A lot of fun to play, just as much fun to watch.
St Petersburg, the new Deadlands/Doomtown game that isn't Slaughter Gulch but whose name escapes me, and Junta all crossed my table. Others covered Warmachine, Carcassone, Pandemic, an aborted Catan game -- and that was just before I left at midnight.
An excellent evening and some great games. Thanks to the RJM Collective for hosting this tradition.
Doug.
