Games and Valour
Went to see Acts of Valor (sic) last night. I expected a Rah-rah Patriotic military movie, and in that I was not disappointed.
On the other hand it did do a couple of things really well. Exposition was minimized ... the bad guys have DShKs? Either you know what they are or you don't, they didn't stop to explain. In the end I found it pretty entertaining for what it was -- American elite dudes protecting America by being elite dudes.
Gamers' Breakfast today was a pretty small affair -- just three of us. But that's three more than last week, and the return to the Bird was appreciated by my appetite!
Full group for the Kingmakers, the session featured some interacting with Kobolds -- always a lot of fun to play as the GM -- and a wounded lion. Lots of people starting to arrive around the Stolen Lands, refugees from the strife in Restov for the most part. We're so close to the end of the first chapter I can feel it.
I started using Hero Labs this week. I have some things to iron out, however overall I really think I can make it work. I might have to unpack my lap-top's mouse again though -- there are some little fidgety bits that the touch-pad thing is a pain in the ass to use.
