1. The rather grown-up party at the CO's house last night was a great time. Apparently I have never had Beef Wellington before, although if you were to ask me yesterday I would have said I had. Who knew? We were, predictably, the last to leave. Kudos to Chris for all the driving that evening.
2. Finally it can be said. As it wasn't me who said it. The food is only one of the reasons breakfast at the Early Bird is preferable to breakfast somewhere else.
3. Sort of a non-session (or, rather, an administrative session) for Shadow & Fire, the FantasyCraft game I'm running, today. I still think this game has legs, now that we're on holidays we've planned a Thursday session.
That being said, there have been a number of very interesting fantasy RPGs released this year (or late last year, or early next year-except-on-pdf), many of which are sitting on my shelves (or in my Documents folder). A Song of Fire and Ice is a neat looking low fantasy game with a fun social mechanic. The fourth edition of Warhammer FRP is a radical departure from the earlier editions, and draws strongly on FFG's card & board games. It looks fascinating, and I hope to run a "sideboard" game of it soon. The new Dragon Age RPG seems very "rules lite" on first glance. I'm looking forward to getting a chance to read both. And we have FantasyCraft, the fantasy version of SpyCraft2.0, which is in turn a d20 OGL game.
