'Silence when you speak to an officer!'

Allie and I had dinner at Wetherspoon's on Wednesday night and then went to see a stage adaptation of Spike Milligan's Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall at the Hampstead Theatre. The show was part madcap variety show, part live music, part poignant WWII memoir and all entertaining. I loved it and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

On Friday, as already mentioned, I resigned from my Membership post. I still feel a bit funny/worried about it, but I think it was the best choice. From the week after next I'll be working on reduced hours in that post and then, at the end of August, I'll be done with it and only working in my Horizons post 22.5 hrs/wk. Hopefully that will let me rest and get rid of some of the stress that I've been under so that I can get over the arthritis more quickly and get things up to speed because, frankly, I'm fed up with doing everything sub-par and feeling like my health is suffering due to my work.

That night Allie came home with a nice bottled beer called 'Maple Moon' as a congratulatory tipple and we watched a couple episodes of The Wire which we're both really enjoying.

Yesterday was bit quiet with Allie being out part of the day and me staying in, pottering around the house and watching Altered States which I wanted to like, but wasn't ultimately impressed with. In the evening we made pizza and watched a bit more Wire.

Which brings us to today in which we've done little apart from going to the Brent Reservoir to pick some blackberries (I'm covered in scratches and nettle stings!) and then took a longish walk home via Gladstone Park in the glorious sunshine. That's the most I've walked since the arthritis began. I'm a bit tired now, but consider it a good day and I'm looking forward to, yup, a couple more Wire episodes and some pork loin for dinner this evening. Hopefully followed by some blackberries for dessert.

This week should be relatively quiet. We're thinking about going to Belgo for dinner at some point, I have both GP and rheumatology appointments and that's about it.
