December 2010
After almost a full year of thinking about it I luckily came to a conclusion that will be best for both of us. I think going to Kansas City is going to be really good for me. While Drury is a great school Park will fit my needs much better and allow me to live on campus and just live in general. Not having a "long distance" boyfriend will make it so much easier to be involved and have friends at school. Also Brit being involved with debate will be nice because that will give me the time to be active in things that I really wanted to do last year but didn't get a chance too. I don't blame Drury for my experience. I think that it is essential to live on campus though. Telling my family was so difficult I didn't want them to be disappointed in me and think I was just following Brit around like a puppy. Luckily everyone has taken it well and see's all the opportunities for me. I feel like I would go to Kansas City regardless of if Brit was going or not. Park is the college I would have chosen had I looked further than the immediate area. Also being in the "big city" with more diversity will be great for both me and Brit. While i did have my concerns I think that I've made the right decision.
You made the right choice and for the right reasons. Going to KC for yourself was the best thing you ever did for yourself. Brit provided the opportunity but you took advantage of all the benefits.
