Wow, what is it with Said and his need to show up in every area of my life lately? Last week we read excerpts of Orientalism for Literary Criticism, and then some of his stuff came up while I was researching the 18th Century for Restoration Drama, and now you wrote an essay about it...

Considering I'd never heard of the guy before last week, I'm getting a little weirded out. It's obviously a global conspiracy or something

it's not that I don't care about them, per se, at least in a very distanced and abstract way...more that I don't care about reading what other people have to say about them
