[Alfred was practically vibrating on his broom the entire match. Half of it spent watching Ivan for any sudden dives or movements and the other half spent searching for the snitch himself, weaving in and out of the play, searching for any flash of gold. A few times he was caught by Ludwig's watch or the corner or by Mei and her rings but besides that there was no hint of the snitch. His blue eyes darted over the field near the Gryffindor hoops. There, that tiny fluttering ball.
He didn't even hesitate to dive after it and within seconds Ivan was diving behind him. They were nearly touching and, out of sheer instinct, Alfred swerved away before slamming his entire body into Ivan. The Russian left his peripheral vision and his hand left the broom. The snitch was just a few inches away. And then the ground came up to meet him. He slammed into the grass, Ivan somewhere on top of him, the snitch nowhere to be seen.
Sitting up from the rumpled heap, he looked around for the snitch, not finding it in his hands beofre, as he glanced over to the mass that was Ivan, he saw the snitch in his large hand. Shoulders slumping as he carefully got to his feet, Ivan doing the same, looking a little battered but pleased to find the snitch in his hand, Alfred brushed himself off, sighing as they were surrounded by other players and the cheering of the silver-and-green side of the stadium amplified a million times over.
For a moment, he was going to pick up his broom and walk away from the field with as much dignity as he could muster. Then he saw Ivan shoot him a victorious smile and the tiniest flush passed across his cheeks. Before either team could touch down and reach them, Alfred's hands were in Ivan's robes and the Russian was pulled down into firm kiss, Alfred's eyes forced shut, trying not to imagine the look on anyone's faces.
Dewi's commentary echoed around them, "IS.... IS THAT ALFRED F. JONES.... KISSING THE SLYTHERIN SEEKER?" and carefully, Alfred pulled back, smiling weakly, hands still tight in Ivan's robes, revelling at the shocked look on the Slytherin Seeker's face. The American grinned.
