you are like the
ocean,

i am drawn to you

let me spend mornings
resting on your shore,
waves rushing over my feet
and salt sticking to my skin

your taste lingering

you are my constant force--
cover me and keep me warm,
teach me the pattern
of your tides

because i am here barefoot
waiting with my
toes in the sand.
