We give typing tests out at my work that are 5 min, and the fastest I have gone there is 103 wpm, but that was like 5 years ago (I've been working at my work for a long time). I'm not 100% sure that a 60 sec. test that just has you type random words will really give you a good gauge of how fast you are. I'm probably, in reality, slower than that (though still pretty speedy!).
As long as you type faster than 50 wpm, you're golden. ;)
I sometimes laugh about my job, because it's kind of random. This week, for example, my job is essentially to sit in my chair and be on my computer (internet!) and be available "in case" anything comes up. However, if I had to describe it officially, it would be something like this:
Supervise 2 full-time staff and one student employee, responsible for front-desk work at a busy office.
Pull and analyze various employment metrics for my boss, as needed
Answer all sorts of questions regarding employment at the University of Minnesota (simply by virtue of me being here for 8.5 years and knowing the answers to most everything, not because it is necessarily in my job description to do so)
Answer technical questions and take responsibility for technical aspects of our employment system
Answer emails regarding various HR things
Help applicants who have no idea how to electronically apply for jobs
Oversee the processing of payroll documents for foreign national employees
A LOT of "miscellaneous projects as assigned", which are my favorite
( ... )
Ooh I didn't know you did HR stuff, that is very intersting to me. I am trying to get into HR but it is like super hard to find entry level positions in that field. So I mostly do admin assistant work but for realz, your job sounds fun!
