PuNk ShOw- Yeah
I'm not a standard scene kid by any means (you know, lives to go see bands they have never heard of, minus the one song they listened to on myspace before going to the venue), but I enjoy a good rock show. I went to Wednesday 13, Aka's and some crappy local punk band last night; and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Granted its hard not to when I'm with the BFF Sinclair. But anyways, so pre-show we wandered around the mall (I got a bra that fits me!) and downtown where we loaded up on baked carb/caloric goodness (otherwise known as pizza and cheesy bread) and got some tea at the flying m, which we sipped as Sin let me go off (in a good way) about my job. So we get to the venue and the show has already started, which was fine because the opening band was, what we call in the english language, "lame." Some high school punk kids yelling out against authority and blah blah blah. The Aka's were fun. At least they have keys anyway, and I did get to make dork out of myself when the lead singer inferred as to why I didn't say F***. I just answered "I don't say the F-word." Evidently, I don't type it either. Then Wednesday 13 came out and it was almost worth the show just to see Sin pee a little. They really were fun and I danced around and almost got tuning keyed in the face (Tim/Chris style) by the bassist and the guitarist. We met Acey afterwards and got pictures and everything and Sinclair was freaking out and trying to hide it and I was pretty chill since I had never really listened to them before, so I think it evened out. It constantly surprises me out spiritual I find seeing bands perform live. Even when it's Wednesday 13 singing about necraphila and the devil, I just know God gets pleasure that they are using their talents and even though they don't think they are, they are using them for God's glory. And in that I feel like I'm in Worship, whether it's a band leading worship on purpose like Starfield, Christians that perform and know they are given the gifts from God like Underoath or even, yes Wednesday 13 who are talented and fun and bring joy. Well, I think that's about as deep as I'm going today.
