This is Mina Harker -->

Being portrayed by Zoe Tapper in the ITV1 2009 show, Demons.
I have 2 problems with her.
Firstly, she is blind. Not in real life, judging by the way she sometimes looks at tihngs in the background when she shouldn't. But in the show she's very, very much blind.
BUT
There's always a but. Her makeup is immpeccable. Not good, not great, impeccable. I go to an all-girls school. I watch girls spend hours doing their makeup, girls with 20/20 vision. And they still come away looking like a mess.
There's a deal made out about her being alone, bar Rupert Galvin (Philip Glenister) and for some reason I don't see this man:

Sitting down with Mina each morning and doing her makeup for her. Could some please explain to me how no one noticed this small flaw? Because when I say impeccable, I really, really mean it. Looks like it was done with a laser.

I also have another problem with her. Not so much with her, but the attitude of the show towards disabilities in gernal.
Luke, the guy who played Robin Hood at one point and rarely wears clothes, gets pissed at his ma.
His mother thinks he's dating Mina. All okay so far?

His mother puts down his aggression, moodiness, lack of appetite (which is actually caused by him ahving to hunt demons rather than be a kid) to having a girlfriend with a disabilty.
He used phrases such as 'You're lucky mum, you're single, you're free, you can do whatever you want.' Said mother thinks this is because of Mina being blind, that he's not coping with it well.
This bothers me greatly. Sure, if a couple had been dating for a while (lets say, longer than several days at least) and one partner got blinded or something of the like, eyah, that'd be difficult. I'm not stupid.
But it annoys me greatly that the show puts across the message that dating someone with a disability it's very, very difficult, hard and cuts you off from the world. Wtf?

On a happier note, Ashes to Ashes is on tonight. BOO-YAH :D Full coverage to be expected later :P

And tomorrow I'm back at school. Less yays.
