So remember my plans for sleeping tomorrow? Yeah... they just went out the window (at least for this week). Since I am one of the only people on monthly salary, they will give me hours before they give hourly people hours. Hourly people are paid for 24 hrs a week (whether they work them or not) and then paid more for all additional hours, monthly are paid for 120 hours a month (I only get overtime if I go over 120 hrs in the month, not if I go over 30 hrs in a week). So what does that mean? They don't want to pay over 24hrs a week for the hourly, and want to make sure I'm doing as close to 30 hrs as possible. Soooo, rather than sticking to the plan of having 2 hourly people split up a class and work on Saturday, they gave me the Saturday classes. I am the only person that has to come in 6 days a week.
So, I went to the Head Instructor and he helped me complain! I'm only teaching Saturday this week, next week I'll be back to just Mon-Fri. But it still sucks that I have to come in tomorrow... I honestly don't mind if I work 30 hrs a week, but I do mind if I don't have the same number of days off as everyone else. And seriously, the weekend is a perfect time to schedule hourly people =\
