Thanks to everyone who wished me a Merry Christmas! Mine was pretty good; I got Revenant Wings, 358/2 Days, money for clothes, a memory card for my phone, the new Harry Potter, and a ton of candy. The family gathering went mostly well, too, and it had been a while since I saw Mel and Meg. I was really touched by everyone's gifts and messages. I'm glad it's over, though; if I could, I'd skip winter entirely and go right to spring.
I started two more short stories, even though I have several others unfinished. /sigh I need to figure out how to finish stuff. I'll be busy next week, but I haven't exactly done anything exciting lately.
I started 358/2 Days first. It's not bad; extremely repetitive, kind of like Chain of Memories was to Kingdom Hearts, but still entertaining. It's been filling in some of the gaps in the storyline, but it's starting to get pretty convoluted for what's supposed to be a kids' game. Xion is mostly boring, but Axel and Roxas are fun. It's nice to see the Org. members from an inside perspective, but there's still not as much interaction as I was hoping for (nobody cares about poor Luxord). Xigbar is cooler than I remembered, Zexion is more of a jerk, and I still hate Xaldin. But it's cool to play as them in Mission Mode. I think Marluxia is my favorite - he's a little slow, but the scythe's reach more or less makes up for it.
So, um, about Doctor Who... RTD has to be on crack. I mean, WTF. But in a good way. Um. I expect Moffat to write coherent, intelligent plots next season, so I'm going to appreciate the complete over-the-topness while it lasts, if that makes sense. Hopefully it'll be like the other specials, and they'll explain exactly mostly what the hell is going on in the next episode, even if it means cramming everything and the kitchen sink into it. Overall, it had some funny parts, a nice Doctor/Master momentwho wants to bet that "running in grass"=fandom's new euphemism?, one of the best quieter scenes I've seen in the series, and it made me reeeally want to see the last episode, which was basically what it was supposed to do. I'll wait to judge/write about specifics once I've seen the second part.
Also, I'm thinking of doing an info page. It's probably about time. >.>
