Day 5 & 6 - Maryland

I still have never been to anyplace in the US where it seems that white people--supposedly the majority in the US--are actually the majority. Plurality, maybe. Even here, it seems like there are more non-white people than not. But I check the census and the percentages are completely different. Where are all the white folks hiding?

Anyway, Saturday was a good day. It is easier to deal with dad when other people are around. We went to Uncle #4's new house and went to lunch at Bamboo Buffet (pretty awful, no one wanted to go, but my dad insisted) and dinner at Vegetable Garden in Rockville, which was terrific. It was mom, dad, grandma, uncle #4, Kian and me at lunch, and all of us plus uncle #3 at dinner.

It's Sunday now. We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory in Baltimore with Ben and Sara and their mom. It was great, we got a table outside by the water, weather was fantastic, we watched people pedalling little funny dragon-shaped boats. Good times.

Mom, grandma and me are now driving to Uncle #5's place in New Jersey. I'm in the car right now. We dropped off Dad at the Upper Marlboro house, but not before he could run in and grab some stuff from the house to give us. Before he handed me the stuff, I gave him a hug, which I think confused him because he just sort of ignored it to give me the stuff. I'd rather hug my father than get random flea market crap from him, but whatever. He gave me some bracelet made out of old dimes. He also showed me a letter he sent to some magazine, that he wrote under Howard's name. I was pissed about that.
