No Exit from it.
Its not that I want to escape from my show, I am just at that really sucky point in rehearsals right now. Jen Blackmer came to watch my "stumble-thru" last night and I ove her for it. Every comment that she made was completely true and uterly helpful, however it made ke realize how much more work I have to do. I realized, through discussion with her afterwards, that I missed a major part of being a director. I didn't give my actor's a throughline. I forgot that while this is a Situational Plot Structure (thank you, Blackmer's Script Anal class) the characters still have to evolve. I don't know, maybe it is a good thing that she helped me identify this problem early. Still, I walked away from the rehearsal last night feeling less than great about the show. Oh well, I still have three weeks, I'll fix it. God I miss Stage Managing.
