Thanksgiving in the Emergency Room-Yeah!

Hmmm...so this little Thanksgiving break didn't exactly go as planned.
To make a long story short, I had the most horrible pains in my gut and stomach about a week before Thanksgiving. Thinking it was just from my Crohn's Disease, I decided to just suffer through it. However, when I was working on Wednesday, I felt so horrible that I requested to leave and went straight to the doctor's office. There I was put back on a very powerful steriod and told to take it easy. That night, we went out to Chinese Food and when I got home I went through the worst pain I have ever endured in my life. It basically felt like someone was stabbing me from the inside out for about twenty minutes at a time. When the sporadic pain would be over, I was left in a cold sweat frantically gasping for breath as the pain took so much out of me.
On Thanksgiving day, I went to the E.R. where I received a Cat Scan (I am sure I spelled that wrong) and was put on heavy pain medication. Luckily, my CT Scan and my labwork came back alright, but I was placed on my heavy steriod again, and was able to go home. I will tell you that nothing sucks more than coming home to a house that smells like Thanksgiving Dinner with an increased appetite due to your steriods, only to be able to drink chicken broth and water. However, two good things about the whole situation: The doctor that treated me was oh so hot (but married :() and they gave me a pain killer that made my head feel pretty damn good.
So this morning I had to go back to get all checked out and everything cleared. I was able to eat a little turkey and mashed potatoes this afternoon so that was good.
I hope that everyone had a better Thanksgiving than I did, but hey, it is good to be alive!
Love ya all,
Joe

P.S. I have already gained three pds due to my pills and I got the job that I interviewed for earlier last week. I have a lot of things to be thankful for, even if sometimes they come at funny times.
