Topic of Discussion:

My roommate is starting a documentary, where she travels all over the country (and potentially Canada) in order to not only follow her favorite musician, Imogen Heap, but to interview individuals in different cities as to how music has become a form of ... therapy, of sorts, and it what ways music has helped people to not only find a shoulder to lean on, but to help find themselves.

So, I wanted to pose these questions as discussion in the comments of this entry...:

+ How has music proven to be theraputic to you?
+ What types of music?
+ Why?
+ Where do you see your life going without music?
+ Who would you be?
+ What would be different without it?
+ It seems pretty logical that different types of music illicit different moods. What moods does certain music bring about, emotionally, for you??
+ Any specific musician? lyrics? bands? riffs? ANYTHING. Be specific, musically. If you don't know what it's called, describe it.

Not all of these questions MUST be answered, but I'd like as much as possible, please.
If you would like to repost these questions in your own LJ, please link me to the entry through this entry. I actually request that you do repost it so I can see a forum larger than just my f-list.
The same goes if you feel as if these questions are better suited for a LJ entry of their own... please link to me through this post, and make sure that anyone else on your f-list makes it accessible to me. (Unless it really is just for personal use and reflection ...and you don't feel like participating in this ... )
Mostly, I am just taking it upon myself to help provide some material, if needed, for the roommate, and I'm really just generally curious. I will attempt to make some time to provide my own reflections on the theraputic nature of music in my own life.

I will open "anonymous" posting if you want to speak freely without anyone knowing exactly who you are. I want this to be an open experience.
