Shop, shop, shop for that perfect gift. Well, I am getting my shopping off to a rather late start due to my previously oppressive work schedule. However, things have died down a little and I can get cracking.
On a related note, things at the museum are their usual. We had a record breaking Holiday Open House this past weekend. Over 700 people visited us and our holiday display. On Saturday, Dave and I spent the day herding people through the museum answering questions and making sure nobody rubbed cookie into the rugs. I also got to don my reproduction edwardian gown from a high school performance of "The Importance of Being Ernest" my senior year. It still fit with a little help from a corset bought at Arisia. I knew that thing would come in handy!!!
On the museum subject I would like to inform you of a neat little service that the Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History (my employer) is subscribing to. Evidently there is a website, www.ShopforMuseums.com, that will donate a percentage of their sales to the museum of your choice. The interface is kinda clunky, but they have a huge selection of stores including Amazon.com and Starwars.com. So, if you are in a charitable mood and need to buy something off an internet site, please check www.ShopforMuseums.com and see if you can help your favorite musuem. I am biased toward mine of course, but there is a plethera to choose from and register for and take heart in knowing you are helping to preserve the past for the education of our future. (I promise the shameless self promotion is over.)
I also attended a rather nice wedding this weekend. Unfortunately, we had to leave early, but it was fun and I had my one half glass of alchohol for the year. (Bailey's Mint Chocolate, yummy, but all things in moderation.)
I have to get back to my day job. I hope the week is going well for all of you. Oh and before I go, pathin and johnoghue are invited to my place on December 17th for football fun. It's the New York Giants vs. the Philadelphia Eagles and this game will have playoff importance. Be there or be a Dallas fan!
