Anne of Cleves

The day started off normal enough. Well, normal for me has changed in the past couple of days. I finished up my obligations at school. Cleaned out my dorm room and Dave has swept me home. Dave and Chris' apartment is very nice. Very white and clean. I suppose the black sofa and comfy chair don't help much. So normal for me is to wake up just after Dave goes to work, take a shower, check my computer, unpack and clean up the kitchen. Normal, for now.

Chatted with Johnoghue. On Sunday he mentioned that there might be a part open in the Ren Faire, a German princess. Fascinating. I know a little German, enough to get me into trouble. I am interested. This morning Johnoghue mentions that the part is still open. Descendingmuse gives me a little more information. This German princess is Anne of Cleves. The fourth wife of Henry VIII and given a quickie divorce. The story is that the portrait Henry saw of her was very flattering. He contends that she was not as flattering in real life. They did not consummate the marriage. She did not resist the divorce (geez I wonder why) and was given estates and a very nice income. However, at this time Henry was not the prize of princely beauty he had been in his youth. Obese and overbearing, many historians wonder if it was not Anne of Cleaves who was repulsed by Henry. There is a theory that she played up her comeliness. Anyway, she made out like a bandit. An independent woman by age 25, in a time where that was hardly customary. I e-mailed someone expressing my interest and am in. Easiest audition I have ever had. Evidently I am in some big Chess Match. Curiouser and Curiouser....

Normal day, with a few adventures. I am researching Anne and need to refresh some of my German phrases. This also means I get to see some of my favorite people tomorrow. Hip horray! Can't wait.
