Job Opening

Mar 07, 2006 20:03

So... the first Music teaching job of the 06-07 school year has opened... I have 2 weeks to submit my resume (I'll take care of it this weekend). It's started! woot!

The Job: High School Band, Instrumental Lessons, Jazz Band, and Pep Band.
The Question: Does Pep Band mean the same thing as marching band? if so, I think I'm out.
The Issue: It's in fucking Mankato. Not the ideal location... however not as bad as it could be (it IS a college town (2 of them actually)).

So I'm applying just to see if I can get an interview (I'd definitely interview... if only to hone my skills), but I don't know if I'd take it. One side of my head is screaming, "Beggers can't be choosy, BITCH!" While the other half of my head is shouting "What the Fuck would you do in Mankato besides teach?". So if great things happen all down the line and I get offered the job, could I really take it? and if I did, what would happen if I interviewed and got a job in the Twin Cities? What is the professional courtesy rule here? Can I accept a job that doesn't start for 4 months, land another job, and quit the first one before it actually started? *throws hands in the air* I suppose it doesn't matter right now... I'm playing the damn if game again.

In other news... I got a birthday present from Erica and Steve today... Tracy Bonham's "blink the brightest" and the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack. Tracy's CD is good, and I think that it will grow on me as I listen to it (a great value for me since I get so bored with so much music). The Grey's Anatomy CD ought to be good, I always enjoy the music from the show. woot.

that is all
