Shape note singing was great.  Imagine 20 people sitting in a square facing forward singing just about as loud as possible in 4 part harmony for 2 hours straight.  What a relief... even if most of the songs were about jesus.  Just like before, everyone was excited to see a new face.  This is such a small phenomena that I'm sure that all new faces are heartly welcomed.  I just loved it, and it turns out that they do a singing at this church a block from my house once a month... I think i'll make it part of my monthly routine.  They also apparently do singings every tuesday near the U and sunday nights at other locations.  I don't know if I'll be able to make the Tuesday night ones, but some of the other Sunday ones might be fun... we'll see how into this I get.

They all invited me to a convention on the 11th.  I won't be able to go (it's during quintet and lessons)... but I was impressed that they invited me.  One of the singers always hosts a brunch singing the Sunday after the convention at her house.  I may try to hit her up with directions for the brunch... I was invited, but it seems almost too forward since it's really an accompaniment to the convention on Saturday... oh well, we'll see.

I tought lessons out in the Wayzata area tonight.  one of my students lives WAY out there.  I passed Navarre, Spring Lake, and Minnestra to get there... who would have known that I'd happily drive to Minnestra?!  They live on an island in the middle of Lake Minnetonka... though the drive was dark, I could tell this is where the wealthy live... Beautiful houses, on an island, in the biggest lake in the TC area.  It was a lot of fun... I really like this family, and although it's probably way to far for me to drive, I'll probably teach my student well into the summer.

I have another review with my boss tomorrow.  I'm not sure how it will go, but I have a sinking feeling about it.  They are not in a place to fire me (I don't think) but I've not become the salesperson that my boss tried to incentivize me to become.  The worst thing that would happen is they would find me a job in the temp pool and let me phase out of the company when a good temp job came up... I'm really not thinking that's the way the meeting will go, but who knows... I'll just be prepared for anything.

Currently loving the Decemberists... I've bought/received way too much great music this month...  It's fantastic!
