I loved the story. It has a very poignant, poetic vibe, and you depict Xander's strengths and insecurities in a very balanced manner ( ... )

I'm glad you liked it. I've actually gotten some feedback suggesting joining communities, but the primary issue thus far has been...

...um...

I didn't know how.

Thanks for the links. I'll give them a look and see what can be made of them. And thanks for the feedback, as well.

On the profile page there is a button "join comminity" You click it and then you have an option to watch or not to watch the community. If you click "watch", all the entries posted on the comm will appear on your friend list.

Also I recommend you to add SU_Herald as a comm to watch on your f-list (you can't join it, because it functions as a newsletter). The editors post new recs six days a week. And you may friend petzipellepingo who posts her own recs daily. This way you will be informed about everything interesting that happens in the fandom - you just have to look through your f-list.

Came over from a rec on the su_herald. This is just lovely. As you say, Xander sees and is seen, what a great description. I especially like his thoughts about new new Willow being more like old Willow. And the insight that Buffy had drawn back from her humanity just like every other Slayer before her was spot on.

"From where he was sitting, the sea seemed prettier by far." What a gorgeous last line. Xander always did march to the beat of his own drum.

Definitely one of the best fics I've come across the year. Well done, hon.

Wow, that's probably the most positive feedback I've gotten so far, thanks.

First, the summary; I like to keep my summaries as short as possible while at the same time trying to communicate the main idea of the story. In this case, we see Xander's insights into his friends while at the same time we see their reactions to his absence for an indefinite amount of time.

On Willow, that's something that struck me while watching Empty Places, specifically when she was sitting in the hospital room with him.

On Buffy, well, a number of villains point out that she's a Slayer with friends. And she's lasted (sort of) longer than nearly every other Slayer. Kind of saw a link there.

And the last line was there to reaffirm Xander's role in the series, that of an ordinary human with an extraordinary character.

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback.
