. . . is good! I'm enjoying work - just did my first teen program. It was Year of the Dragon themed, for the Chinese New Year. We're also planning summer library events already, because summer here is a huge deal, and people book up fast. I'm supposed to do three big events for the teens during the summer; I'm looking at a Wizard Rock concert, a wild animal show (I think I can get one with really cool animals, like wildcats!), and a manga/graphic novels workshop.
Adam just came to visit me! He flew in on Friday night; when we woke up on Saturday morning, we'd gotten about eight inches of snow, and it was still falling hard. I'd only seen flurries since coming to MA, and had to assure Adam that this was not, in my experience so far, a frequent occurrence. (It all melted on Monday, anyway.) So we spent a pleasant Saturday snowed in together. Started watching Downton Abbey, which we both liked so much that we finished the whole first season over the course of his visit.
Sunday, we drove into Boston. (Well, Adam drove, and I was in charge of the GPS. And knowing where the horn is in my apparently-weird car. This was only relevant once, when a van attempted to merge with us.) Met up with an old friend of Adam's, had lunch, and hung out a bit. Then we came back to Brewster, and I took Adam out for a really nice dinner. Which was super-fun - the place was quiet, and the food was delicious, and the company, of course, enchanting. :)
Monday we walked on the beach, and we saw one of the crews that go out there to rescue beached dolphins. Was nice to see someone working on that, since I've certainly seen enough dead dolphins on that beach . . . Still, it was a nice walk. Then we made supper, kicked back, and watched more Downton Abbey.
Tuesday I had work from 1:00 to 8:00, but Adam also had school stuff to work on, so he spent that time in the library computer lab. Then, Wednesday, we had the morning and early afternoon together before he had to leave. But he's coming to visit again the weekend of Valentine's Day! *Squee* I am so lucky. And am working on planning things to make the visit super-special. (For this past one, probably the biggest effort I made was to bake cinnamon-swirl raisin bread from scratch - I remembered Adam saying how much he liked the stuff. We had so much of it that we ate it for the whole visit and I still had half a loaf to send him home with.)
ANYWAY. So that's what's up with me. I've been busy, but happy. And finally getting a chance to read again!
rocks my face off,
happy
