There Goes My Health

So, I've discovered that you can melt chocolate chips and dip other food items* into them. Like, pretty much any food items. If these food items are not stable at room temperature, you can chill them until they are stable enough to roll into marbles, then freeze those marbles, then dip those marbles into the melted chocolate chips and pull them out again and chill them AND YOU HAVE TRUFFLES.

And by "you," I mean "me," as in "the person who currently has, like, seven or eight dozen homemade truffles in the fridge, mostly filled with strawberry buttercream frosting, but some filled with sugary peanut-butter filling."

I owe this magnificent discovery to Alice, who introduced me to this kind of truffle-making over Spring Break. Thanks, Alice! These would be heartfelt thanks, but it seems my heart has taken up with a rather ungrateful crowd in the form of my arteries, which have their own opinions on the subject of my being able to make my own truffles.

*Or, you know, you could use more chocolate chips, I guess. But that would be a Rube Goldberg sort of snack creation system.

i should maybe be asleep, chaotic silly, food that isn't cookies
