the story, as it were
Ava Wilson is special. It took years for her to realize just how special she and the children her really were. For now, though, she's just a secretary who recently accepted her boyfriend, Brady's, proposal of marriage. Things were going great...until the dreams started. She dreamed horrible things at night, things that would leave her gasping for air and afraid to go back to sleep. In her dreams, she saw a man get stabbed outside his doctor's office, another blown to bits in an old house...a girl -no, not a girl, a freaking werewolf- fall to the claws of another in the middle of a deep, dark forest.
It was all just a dream, right? She had stayed up late, watching too many movies, eating too many Pop Rocks, drinking too much Pepsi before going to bed... None of this was real. It was just a dream. At least, it was until Ava saw the news report of Laura Hale's death. And suddenly it wasn't a dream any longer. This was all real and she was dreaming of real people dying their real deaths. Before she knew it, she was on a plane (or, bus rather, since she's just a secretary) to Beacon Hills, California where she finds the girl's ruined house. And the girl's ruined brother, Derek.
This mix follows their relationship. They get to know each other. Derek falls hard. Ava, constrained by her life, falls harder. They love. Unfortunately, these two cannot live in a bubble. Destiny intervenes and wheels set in motion long before either was a blip on the radar begin to turn. Azazel puts his decades-long plans into motion and Ava is whisked away to Cold Oak where she will fight for her life and eventually succumb to the devils within her.
