Friday evening, Gabriel and I went for a very nice, long walk. We talked about a lot of things and just had fun. He asked me if I would go to Dwight Night with him. I accepted. (I'm glad he is going to go an not sulk in his room because Emily is away.)
Yesterday we had breakfast and then I packed and got onto the bus. How sad it is to ride alone. :( The ride was long as usual, but I got to NYC and my sister and I went off to her apartment to drop my stuff off. Then we decided to go wander around FAO Schwartz because I had never been there. It was not as amazing as I had expected, but a lot of it was pretty neat. They actually let you try things out. Like in the "Rec Room" downstairs you can try out different types of bike/scooter type things. We had fun down there. Then we went out to dinner to this small tibetan place. There was this guy at the table across from me (behind my sister) who kept looking at me. He was with a big group of people. He tapped my sister on the shoulder and asked her if we were "together." She said no; we are sisters. He then asked how old I was. He passed me a note on a napkin and said, "Take this as a compliment, because you are seventeen, but if you were older there would be another note coming!" Weird. The note said that I was the most naturally beautiful girl he has seen in months. Then he asked me if I had seen Rent. Yes, a long time ago. Do you sing? Yes. Laughter. He offered to buy me another drink. I said no thank you. Then he started hitting on my sister; telling her about his break-up. He said he hasn't gotten very good at this "picking up" thing since he broke up with his last girlfriend. My sister said he was very raw and he laughed and said, "Oh, ok, goodbye!" and was gone. It was very weird. Then my sister and I went to the movies and saw Wallace and Gromit. A very cute movie! Then back to her apartment and sleep.
This morning we woke up and ate and left for the bus. This was the first time I have ever been scanned when getting on a bus. They never do that. It a little disconcerning. But I got on the bus. Another long ride. Then on the metro. It took me an hour and a half to ride one whole line (orange) on the metro. Crazy. Then I was picked up by my mom and Judi and now I am here. So I am.
Hope everyone's break is going well.
