Today (Saturday, October 3) I signed my December lease. I noted that they have a specific clause in the lease that says that all laundry must be done in laundry facilities. That might put a damper on me getting a ventless washer/dryer. I guess I’ll have to think about that more. Would suck to buy a 1,000 appliance and then be told you can’t use it or worse get evicted for it.
Saw the therapist after signing the lease. Things seem to be going there - building up the relationship and learning more about myself. When I go into appointments I have things written down to discuss and I didn’t get through them all. I think this is a sign of a good appointment because it means we discussed things, reflected on them and some insight was gained.
After that I needed to go to a car shop to get an estimate on my brakes. I had to go a bit out of my way because the east bound entrance to 94 was closed at Main and then I had to pee really bad so I stopped at home then continued on. Oh then I had to stop very briefly to put gas in my car because it was on E. When I got to the shop it was 3:58 according to my clock. I went in and asked for the estimate, the guy looked at the clock in the shop and said that they closed at 4:00 (according to his clock it was a few minutes after) and said I could come back on Monday. Now I have to think should I come back or not. Good customer service would have helped me then. He was also smoking in the shop and it smelled like there had been a lot of smoking. When I entered there were also two little kids in the shop being exposed to all that smoke. Didn’t give me a good view of the place. On the other hand, according to the rates that were in an area business “coupon” book they may be cheaper then a lot of the other places and a hell of a lot cheaper then the quote I got from a dealership. Also, they got some pretty good reviews on Google. I guess its something to think about.
After all this I went to Target in Canton to pick up a few things. The Target in Canton on Michigan Ave is a really nice Target as are most of the stores in Canton. It’s very interesting to me how things are nicer (newer) in Canton and easy to get to unlike in Ann Arbor, yet the population of Ann Arbor is larger and the median income in Washtenaw County is significantly more. Being further away from Canton is one (of the very few things) that will be a negative from where I live now. But honestly I haven’t gone to Canton that many times to have made that a significant factor in where I want to live. Being closer to work and friends was and is the main factor that went into where I wanted to live.
Today (Sunday, October 4th) I hope to do some mad cleaning I’ve been putting off for weeks now - try and get the abode in more order and make some chili in the crock pot. It’s been a minute since I’ve done that.
Oh in other news my Blackberry fell into a glass of water last night while I was watching an episode of Star Trek and I didn’t even know it happened for like 30 minutes. I look out the battery, shook out the water and I’m letting it dry out over the weekend. We’ll see if it comes back to life. In the interim I’m using a “back up” phone I bought a few months ago. Thankfully I did so and have been regularly backing up my Blackberry data. It is a regular keypad phone though so doing things like texting has been a bit painful. I feel like it takes me about 10 minutes to send a text. lol While I could get a new Blackberry now through places like wirefly for free (with two year contract extension) I’m holding out on that because I want the new Blackberry 3G phone from T-mobile whenever that comes out. Rumor has it around mid November. As it is with the 2 yr contract extension it will probably cost around 300.00. If I were to get a new “free” blackberry now and then get the new 3g blackberry it would probably cost me 500 -600$.
Well that’s it from me for now.
