Rain + water based paint = fail.
A handyman who purchased paint at the Benjamin Moore Paint Dealer I work at is upset because the elastomeric waterproof coating we sold him failed to work properly and is demanding that we reimburse him for the product cost plus lost wages. The product failed to adhere properly to the stuccoed surface and washed off. Why did the paint fail? He applied it this afternoon in the RAIN. It rained steadily today in Tally from 10am until 3pm. According to him, that's no excuse as it says on the label in bold black print "WATERPROOF COATING". This same product is water based and cleans up with soap and water. I'm not making this up. What an idiot! My response would have been "Sorry sir, the product failed not due to water but rain. It's not rain proof, just waterproof":)
