Saturday night a bunch of us decided to go camping at this state park in Rhinebeck. About 2 hours after we got there, one of my friends, Doody, slipped and fell off of a 12 foot cliff and smacked his head onto the rocks below. We all freaked out and after waking him up, realised he was completely out of it and bleeding out of the back of his head. It was so fucked up, he was just maoning and snoring, and every once in a while he'd scream at us to leave him alone, but he really didn't know what was going on. So, about 15 minutes later, a park ranger showed up and called an ambulence, then told all of us that the park was closed for the night and we were all tresspassing. So, about an hour and a half later, they had Doody on a gurney and they hoisted him up the cliff he had fallen down and from there they put him in a helicopter and flew him out to a trauma center in Westchester. Then, the rest of us, standing around in the cold, wondering what was going to happen, got served with court dates, and now we have to go to court next month to get served with fines for tresspassing. Yesterday, we found out Doody got moved to another hospital, and that he was in intensive care and in a coma. We all freaked until last night when we learned that he was out of the coma, but that he had a fractured and dented skull and he was on morphine because he was in so much pain. All aside, he's a really lucky guy; where he hit his skull was only about an inch or two from his spinal chord, and he could just as easily be paralysed right now. If everybody could just keep him in your prayers, it'd be greatly appreciated. All in all, though, it was definitely the worst camping trip ever.
