Writer's Block: The Best Thing You've Done

Jul 11, 2008 15:47

Last year I was riding a motorcycle and saw someone crossing over into me lane. I couldn't move out of the way or stop fast enough and I thought to myself:

This is it. I am going to die. I have lived down many of my dreams and loved lots of people.

And I smiled and shut my eyes. A few minutes later I woke up on the side of the road and actually started crying because I was alive and because it hurt!

I've volunteered at many places, helped out lots of friends, loved and been loved back, traveled to 4 continents....I go after things that I want and am happy to say that my life is generally organized around my dreams and desires. I graduated from NYU one year ago and am working doing marketing for a company to save up money and travel to Antarctica and South America next Spring. I'm working on grad. school apps to get a degree in public health and further myself on the path to law school...I am happy.

In conclusion, when faced with what I thought was imminent death, I was happy about my life, the ups and downs and the whole thing, it was all the best.
