By the way, is the word "nyotaimori/nantaimori" or "body sushi"(?? according to Wikipedia...) familiar to you? That's the original text of "platter for sashimi" and I rolled my eyes to find out that there's even an article in the Wiki, but not sure if is common or not. :P
...And I have been preparing this comic for months to be beta'd but not finished yet. (^^;
The concept of "body sushi" is one that probably most Americans don't know, but I've heard of it, and anybody who looks for trivia that is...what's the best word...titillating, that's the word!...they might know about it. It's the sort of thing that makes one say, "Ooh, how naughty!", so of course it gets attention! :D
Hmm, I see. I was wondering about it ever since I saw a CSI:Vegas episode whose case involved a body sushi bar. I was like "oh no, no no, please NO" because it was presented like a kind of secret and yes, naughty, but entertaining place. It actually is, to Japanese people, more shameful and disgusting kind of entertainment which dirty rich old men or politicians (lol) may enjoy in very secret places. So naturally we make a joke about it sometimes. :B Anyway, maybe I'd better change the translation... at least from sashimi to sushi? Haha. (Actually I may ask you again, after I've finished all of draft translation, if you don't mind... ^^;)
CSI and Law and Order and all the various crime shows love to get their hands on kinky concepts and feature them in episodes, and they always manage to leave viewers eye-rolling at the way the investigators act so repelled/shocked at the concept, like they're babes just out of the womb and not trained police!
Oh, Sirius, take the sashimi! It's sexier than chicken!
