Oracle's wheelchair
Fascinating post by brown_betty on Barbara Gordon and her wheelchairs. Lots of smallish pictures and commentary on the chairs and the artists' who were apparently not thinking when they created them. I'm still wincing over the handle. Granted, I'm used to friends who use the power chairs. There's one specific and wonderful scene where Babs flat out explains why there isn't and will never be handles on her wheelchair. She's independent and likes to depend on herself. And then of course some artistic twit puts one anyway! But there's other stuff I didn't know or think of, like the physiological effects of the high back and the camber. Definitely goes into the memories for fic research.
