Waking up the bunnies

Well, the announcement of history_bigbang had a good side-effect and that was nudging the dormant Fleischerverse back into active thought. I was mostly thinking what longer historical fic stories I have left uncompleted and remembered that long Christmas story I never quite figured out how to write. I still haven't completely, especially figuring out how reconcile the early Superman canon. Smallville and the Kents are what we've come to expect with Superman stories. Likewise, I realized how long I'd accepted Lois Lane as Army brat as accepted canon, but it was established in the 1980s. She's had siblings far longer, even back to the Golden Age, counting her niece Susie as evidence. (Did you know Sam Lane was originally a *horse farmer*? That's rather an odd counterpoint to modern Lois sneering at Clark's small town Kansas roots.)

I also have the sequel to "St. Augustine" X-men AU in mind. I stumbled upon Florida Memory site, which contains a lot of historical photos/etc that could prove useful.
