Wormwood & Dr. Fate

The latest audio drama to try was Wormwood, "an attempt at a modern version of a serialized audio mystery". After five minutes in, Dr. Xander Crowe reminded me of an audio drama version of Jeff Parker's "Mysterius the Unfathomable" -- withering British accent, cross of House/Geoffrey Rush and interest in the occult and a quirky girl assistant. He's a bit less self indulgent than Mysterius and more angst-ridden by his past mistakes. He has a vision of dead woman and heads off to a strange little town called Wormwood. All this adds up to a rather interesting little show so far.

One thing that brightened my day: Chris Samnee used my suggestion for his daily sketch. Those Smallville photos inspired me to go JSA and suggest Dr. Fate.
