Human Targets and potentially delayed gratification

Nov 30, 2009 18:39

Human Target promotional trailer: Based on a DC Comics character, this could be another old-fashioned action series. It's almost a shame Mark Valley is considered "too old" by most pundits because he does look a lot like a Steve Rogers Cap. He even won Newsarama's Captain America casting poll awhile back. He's also a West Point grad and a Gulf War veteran. Truth be told, there aren't nearly as many square jawed blond actors around Hollywood these days -- most actors I can think would need a bleach job. (Although if they're really serious about the "First Avenger" movie, shouldn't they be further along? As it is, flipping "Thor" is more planned and developed and cast than Cap.)

Marvel is meanwhile determined to cause me Christmas distress. I was double checking the release dates for some upcoming comics to plan an Union Station visit, only to make a painful discovery. "Who Will Wield the Shield?" is being released December 23rd, the day before Christmas Eve, and more importantly my travel day down to Florida. I do know there's a shop in Melbourne if all else fails, but I am prepared to have to wait until I come home. In the grand scheme of things, it's a piddling thing, but I was so looking forward to it.
