A trip down memory lane

Last night was a nostalgic trip through my writing files. I was curious what had been left both unwritten and untranscribed. I wrote a lot longhand once upon a time, mostly because I had boring jobs with no Net/word processor access, so a writing notebook or some scrap of paper was the next best thing.

"Get it down and sort it out later" was the order of the day. All that mattered was I wrote. I didn't worry about fannish gremlins reading over my shoulder. I did discover the flaw of AUs -- change a character too much and they might as well be an original character. That may be part of the reason the Buffy/VR5 crossover was never finished.

Then I discovered the green notebook of doom. That was the Highlander notebook. Half of it was notes/plot/story for "Never Interfere" I'd forgotten existed. The other half was notes on my original immortal character. I even had a note to myself "Cute, but too talky. She's taking over the story!" I do think it could be rewritten. I'm not losing my OC if I can help it. As long as she doesn't turn into one of the season six women, I'll be happy!

I'm not sure where the first story for the Cold Squad/Highlander crossover is. I'm hoping and praying that it's hiding in my zip disks. Otherwise it may never see the light of day again in that form.
