Cupid

I just watched the trailer for the remake of Cupid. Oh my god, why why why was this allowed to happen? Please stop trying to remake my favorite shows, especially the ones I still miss and wish they'd lasted longer. It's like they sucked all the wit and charm out of the original. I'll be honest. Neither lead works for me. I'm trying to figure out why I didn't like Bobby Cannavale. Jeremy Piven can do sleazy and his Trevor/Cupid really had his moments, too, but he had his regular guy charm about him too. I liked Sarah Paulson in what I saw of "Studio 20", but this role is all wrong. I'm trying not to compare them against the originals, but damn it's really hard. How do you make something that good better? What really struck me was the lack of chemistry or interaction. The original "Cupid" worked so well because of the banter between Marshall and Piven.

The only good thing that could come out of it would be a dvd release for the original series. Given Piven popularity these days, you'd think that would have happened already. (Knowing the laws of TV physics, the remake will be immensely popular and everyone will want to forget/ignore the original. *sighs* Yes, I am still that bitter.)
