In 1981 the BBC aired a special presentation on Arena in the U.K. titled "The Comic Strip Hero" in which Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster discuss the creation of Superman.
Also included in the program were interviews with Kirk Alyn, Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder and others.

I've only listened to the first small piece, but already there are fascinating tidbits, like the reasoning for Clark Kent's glasses. Both Siegel & Shuster wore glasses. But they also admitted a fondness for the silent Harold Lloyd movies where he'd be a mama's boy pushover one moment and then save the day in the next. Sound like any Kansas farmboy we used to know?
